Meisje van 11 steelt en sloopt SUV ouders

In West Ashley ging een meisje van 11 er vandoor met de SUV van haar ouders terwijl ze haar 7 jarig zusje meenam. Binnen een paar kilometer raakte ze de macht over het stuur kwijt. Ze is aangeklaagd voor onverantwoord rijgedrag en rijden zonder rijbewijs. Ze kwamen er gelukkig met een paar kleine schrammetjes vanaf.

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) – An 11-year-old girl was cited by Charleston police over the weekend after taking the keys to her parents' SUV and getting into a car accident with her 7-year-old sister.
According to Charleston police, the 11-year-old girl and her 7-year-old sister took their parents SUV around 3 a.m. Saturday from Ponderosa Drive in West Ashley. The 11-year-old girl then drove the vehicle to the convenience store at Savage Road and Highway 17 where she struck one of the gas pumps with the vehicle.
A clerk at the store notified police about the incident. Officers were looking for the vehicle when a motorist called police around 7:30 a.m. about a single-car accident on Sanders Road off of Bees Ferry Road.
The girls were found inside the vehicle with scrapes and bruises. They were taken to MUSC. According to police, the vehicle was driven off the road and flipped onto its side. The girls are expected to be OK.
The 11-year-old girl was issued citations for careless driving and driving without a drivers' license.
According to the accident report, the SUV sustained about $10,000 in damage.
