We’ve been reporting about this for some time now, but now we can finally put a face or design to all the rumor about a B-Class SUV. Internally, they call it a “Sport Utility Cruiser”, which suggest that they’ll have optional all wheel drive package. As you can see in the pictures below, the lines are much soften then the ones found on the GLK or the all new E-Class, but that shouldn’t surprise anyone, as that seems to be were Mercedes is heading in terms of design – the F800 research vehicle was a big hint for that.
According to Autobild, the BLKs job will be to take on its closest competitors, which will be the BMW X1, Audi X3, Range Rover LRX and maybe even the MINI Countryman. As the following dimensions suggest, it will be very similar to the X1, its main rival. Wheelbase 2700 mm (X1 = 2760 mm) • Length 4440 mm (X1 = 4450 mm) • Width 1800 mm (X1 = 1800 mm) • Height 1500 mm ( X1 = 1550 mm) • 500 liters of luggage compartment (X1 = 420 liters).
